MY KIDS WERE JERRY'S KIDS
Excerpt from
What Are The Odds...
The day of the MDA Labor Day Telethon, I sat at the long table in the banquet room at the Holiday Inn tapping my pencil on a legal pad staring at the phone willing it to ring.
The whole family
was there, and while Marty and I manned the phones, Glenn and a few of his
friends were collecting
donations in their mini “Pots of Gold.”
When their pots got heavy, they dumped their loot into the big “Pot of Gold” sitting in front of Steven and Craig.
Don't forget to donate to MDA this Labor Day

Excerpt from What Are The Odds...
Sitting in the
corridor at Jackson Memorial the next day I realized what I should have at
least suspected months before—major life changes were on the way, just not the
ones we had planned.

As the new baby grew, Grandma Bea and Marty and I watched the three of them like hawks. Bea was the first to say it, but there was no way we could have missed the fact that at eithteen months, Baby Glenn was talking up a storm, and his older brothers still were'nt trying to talk in sentences.
Now Marty and I were worried.

What is a hero?
In What Are The Odds... Carole is dealt a wicked hand to play...and play it she does until the very last word.

It
wasn’t like Carole hadn’t been aware that Glenn’s older brothers
weren’t big talkers.
She just hadn’t realized that it might be a sign of
something larger, something that would change her entire family's life for the foreseeable future.
